Bruce Bacon, co-founder of Genesis Attachments and Exodus Machines, has been appointed president of Luxemburg, Wisconsin based SAS Forks according to an announcement earlier this month by Tenamec’s Executive Chairman/CEO Bill Van Sant.
In the announcement Van Sant says: “I am extremely pleased to announce the appointment, effective August 1, 2023, of Bruce Bacon to the position of President, SAS Forks. Bruce will report to Tenamec’s Executive Chairman/CEO.
Bruce joins the SAS Forks organization after serving for over three decades as a successful leader in companies that serve key market niches that are also served by SAS Forks, including Scrap Processing, Auto Recycling and Salvage, among others. Bruce held sales and marketing roles of increasing responsibility while employed by LaBounty from 1990-1997. He considered founder Roy LaBounty to be a valued mentor and coach during his tenure at LaBounty.
Bruce was a co-founder of Genesis, a company located in Superior, Wisconsin that was founded in 1998. Genesis designs and produces a broad family of advanced excavator mounted Shears and Grapples for cutting and processing ferrous and non-ferrous steel scrap, in addition to a family of Demolition Attachments. The demolition attachments are utilized by construction demolition and material recycling contractors. During Bruce’s leadership at Genesis from 1998 through 2009, the company’s annual revenues grew to $66.5M! Genesis continues to be a market leader.
In 2009 Bruce became a co-founder of Exodus Machines, a company located in Superior, Wisconsin. Exodus develops highly engineered and differentiated rubber-tired wheel loader products that are at the forefront of the material handling industry with electronic over hydraulic controls, hydro-mechanical drive systems, and a unique patented “cab to ground feature.” During Exodus’ start-up, Bruce negotiated a global alliance with Caterpillar. Bruce was instrumental in founding other Exodus Global alliances including BladeCore, Fortress, OilQuick USA among other initiatives.
The respected and successful companies in which Bruce was co-founder during his career are generating annual revenues that exceed $150,000,000. Bruce is an iconic leader in the scrap processing, auto recycling and auto salvage, construction demolition and material handling markets that SAS Forks also serves. He has successfully led the development of new companies and execution of their growth-oriented strategies. One of Bruce’s valued success factors throughout his career is the personable and dedicated manner in which he is engaged, develops, mentors, and supports each employee of the organizations he leads. I was associated with Bruce when he led Genesis, and his employee-oriented practices were apparent from the first day of our association. He also consistently proclaims the mantra, “Customer First”, which is closely aligned with the priority goal that each of SAS Forks’ employee supports.
