Like any holiday period, the Easter holiday weekend brings with it a break for the hardworking construction industry, but this means leaving job sites unattended often for lengthy periods of time.
This Easter many sites will be shut down for an extended period of time due to Union Picnic Days, Site rostered days off (RDOs) and Anzac Day falling within a week of Easter. Like any period where sites are left unattended for periods of time the risk of theft and vandalism on a site increases.
At Solution Plant Hire we want all our customers to return to a site ready for action and so we have put together these few tips to try and avoid any nasty surprises when you return to work.
Keep your work site and any equipment safe by following these simple tips:
- Lock up all cabs, hoods, external doors & Fuel caps where ever possible
- Switch off isolators and padlock where possible
- Cover all buckets and properly secure or hide away all attachments
- Where possible place fire extinguishers from outside of machines in the cabs
Following these few simple pointers could be the difference between returning to site to see a damaged or vandalised machine or returning to work without delay and no unwanted repair costs.
